Greetings Friends,

First of, Merry Christmas to you all! :) We hope you are having a very merry Christmas! :)

4.5 years ago on the 27th July we first announced STAR in this blog post:

We are very happy to announce finally 4.5 years later we can show you what we have been cooking all this time with demos and a early alpha preview/MVP! :)

The 3 demo videos made over 3 days from Solstice 21st to the 23rd December can be found below:

Little disclaimer: These are a preview of STAR so it still needs a little more polish but it is about 99.8% complete, we will iron out the last little issues in Jan but we needed to get this out for Xmas & Solstice as described below! :) These videos still only show a tinny fraction (they are just the tip of the iceberg!) of what STAR & The OASIS can do, we will be showing more demo videos in January as well as doing some tech deep dives to show how it works under the hood and how it uses the WEB4 OASIS API & WEB5 STAR API and can serve as examples of how to build on both of them...

STAR is what sits at the top of the OASIS Christmas Tree (the trunk is the core architecture, the branches are the providers & STAR is what brings it all alive and is the interface to access, use and manage the OASIS & Our World). So Christmas was the perfect time to finally show the world STAR and to do a early preview build of it. We also wanted to kick off the new STAR Demo Series on Solstice because that is the return of the Sun King and the first demo was done on Sun Day 21st so was the perfect day to first show STAR! ;-)

As you will see in the videos there are still a few minor glitches we need to iron out in January, but these are only very small cosmetic fixes that are quick to sort, the core architecture and systems as well as the WEB4 OASIS API and WEB5 STAR API which it is built on top of are fully functioning as can be verified in the demos... Ideally we wanted to wait till Jan till we had these ironed out but we NEEDED to get it out before Xmas and Solstice which was our final Lifeline (what we call a deadline because we would rather be alive than dead!) to make sure we hit our target not only before Xmas and on Solstice but to fulfil the Ready Player One prophecy (where the OASIS was released in 2025).

It was actually more stable and fully working before we did a last min massive refactor and upgrade for the NFT API/System which turned into a lot more work than first thought to allow multiple child WEB3 NFT's too be wrapped inside a WEB4 NFT and this massive re-write/upgrade has unfortunately made some of the other systems and UI glitch a little (very little) but still function (because STAR & The OASIS has multiple levels of robust error handling so it is very hard to crash them as can be seen in the demo videos, it still continues without breaking a sweat and actually still succeeded so is fully functional) because we haven't had time to do full regression testing yet, this will be completed in Jan where we will do a new series of more polished demo videos and a new release of STAR. There will now be regular demos and releases of STAR, OASIS, Our World & HoloNET now we are finally over the massive 4.5 years STAR bump! ;-) Yes, it took a looooooooot longer that initially anticipated but it has massively evolved over the years as you will see in the videos with nearly 600 commands supported!

It blends all of WEB2, WEB3, WEB4 & WEB5 together into a fully unified system & architecture so understandably this takes a lot of time and is now well over 3 million lines of code and is of course insanely complex architecture with lots of moving parts so it takes a LOT to be able to test every single thing & every possible permutation/combination hence why a few gremlins creped into the demos, which will be squished in Jan as previously stated.

Below is a summary of what was discussed in the videos:

Finally, you can also find the latest releases of OASIS Runtime (v.4.4.4) and STAR ODK (v3.3.3) below:

We hope you enjoy your Xmas present! :)

The future is bright, the future is STAR! ;-)

Let there be light! :)

In Love, LIGHT & Hope,

The Our World Tribe.
